Growing up in Oak Brook, IL, Dr. Lis was the recipient of a pair of thick glasses to help her see. On her 16th birthday, she received her first pair of contact lenses, allowing her to shed those big, ugly glasses. The contacts changed her life, and, from that point on, she knew she want to help other see clearly. She attended Northern Illinois University and received a BS in Dietetics Nutrition and Food Science and then attended the Illinois College of Optometry. She has been practicing since 1988, first as a contact lens specialist, then as an Optometrist at the Walmart Vision Center in Elk Grove Village since the store opened in 1993. Dr. Lis doesn’t have a favorite patient story. She has many, many favorite patient stories. Every time she puts contact lenses in a first time wearers eyes, she loves to see their reaction on being able to see clearly again. When not at work Dr. Lis spends time with her husband and 3 children. Her son and 2 daughters are very active with baseball, track, and cross country. Dr. Lis is a board member at the University of Illinois Mom's Association and volunteers with numerous school committees and athletic organizations. She enjoys biking, running and golfing during her free time.

Dr. Hersh became interested in optometry at a young age. She was born with “crossed eyes” and a “lazy eye”, and was treated by eye specialists beginning at 6 months old. She felt destined to be an optometrist and wanted to help others with their eye issues as she had been helped. Dr. Hersh attended the University of Michigan and the Illinois College of Optometry, graduating with a B.S. in Visual Science and Doctor of Optometry Degree. As a young optometrist, she traveled to a remote area of Mexico, where she performed eye exams on the people in this under-served area. Dr. Hersh has extensive training in contact lenses, including fitting cls for Keratoconus as well as gas permeable, hybrid and other specialty lenses. She has worked with the Wohl Eye Center and Bloomingdale Optical, accruing a loyal patient following over 18 years, before coming to Walmart Vision Center. Her compassion shows when treating her patients and she finds it very rewarding fostering the patient relationships that develop through the years. Dr. Hersh has volunteered in the schools, with the Girl Scouts, and at various homeless shelters. She is a member of the AOA, the CL Section of the AOA and the Association to Prevent Blindness in America. During her free time she enjoys spending time with her children and family, whom she adores.

Dr. Pundy grew up in the Ukrainian Village section of Chicago, surrounded by experts in the medical field. She wanted to join the other members in her family, so she attended school to become an Optometrist. Now, 30 years later, she looks back at her work and is amazed how many people are without vision care. She is an asset to the community, being able to speak fluent Ukrainian, Polish and Spanish, and serving people in a volunteer capacity. Dr. Pundy travelled to Ecuador to volunteer as an optometrist. When not helping others, she spends time doing what her three daughters like to do, which is now mainly dance and scouting. She also spends time with her husband and the family dog, Tia.
